If you could describe yourself in just one word, it would be:
Dreambitionista [dreem-bish–uhn–nee-stuh] (noun)
- A very ambitious person who either plans to, or already has hit the ground running toward their dreams.
- A supporter and encourager of those who are hustling toward their dream life.
Dreambitionista, let me tell you…
This site is for you, my friend! Launched in early 2017, Honor Her Ambition is a quickly growing community for dreambitionistas, a collective of dream-chasers and ambitious hustlers.
What will you find at the Honor Her Ambition site?

Dreambitionistas are constantly learning and growing, myself included. Every day, I continue to learn something new, but love to share things as I discover them, hence the existence of Honor Her Ambition.
Hello new friend! My name is Katrina DeGrande, and I want you to know that ever since I can remember, I’ve been a dreambitionista. The summer before 8th grade, I had a meeting with my parents and the principal at the new junior high that I would be attending after summer break was over. The principal’s jaw about hit the floor when I asked him how soon I could take the 9th grade proficiency test. That’s NOT a common question that he gets from your typical soon to be 8th grader that’s on summer break.
I have always had this deep down desire to do well at everything I’ve ever done or tried – as well as I know I can anyways. That’s why my passion for continuing to grow and go after my dreams really hit me at full force a couple of months ago.
Fast Forward to the end of 2016
To bring you up to speed – A couple of months ago, I was talking with a male friend about our careers. He asked me how the job was going. I explained my current job was going well, but that it’s not very exciting, and at times can be a little boring. He basically went on to say, “Oh, it’s ok. Your husband is going to make the big bucks someday.” He followed that up with, “Do you know what? My mom makes $60,000 per year, and my parents just stash that into savings, and live off of my dad’s income.”
Cue the tiny violins…
Hold up. Wait a minute. I never said I didn’t want to continue growing in my career. I never said my current job at less than a decade out of college will be the last job I ever have. Finally, I never mentioned what my income was. Who’s to say it’s not already ‘the big bucks’?
All of a sudden, my passion for something bigger and better than my everyday 9 to 5 was refueled. Why should I settle for a slightly boring job that is easy to do and pays well? I don’t need to settle for something that doesn’t better the world, when leaving my mark on the world is something I’ve always dreamed of doing. I don’t need ‘the big bucks’ to make me happy. Finally, I don’t need or want my hubby to make ‘the big bucks’, while my income is treated like a supplement.
What I want and need is to help others, like I’ve always had a burning desire to do. I want to light the same fire in others that is already burning in me. I want to inspire, teach, and empower dreambitionistas to do what they’ve always dreamed of doing.
